REUNION 2009 May 29 - 31, 2009 Class years ending in "4" and "9"
(July 2, 2009) -- From May 29-31, more than 400 undergraduate alumnae gathered on campus for Reunion Weekend to reconnect with classmates, professors, and Simmons. They enjoyed a variety of festivities, including a BBQ dinner in the newly renovated Fens dining hall, a cocktail reception on the rooftop of the new LEED-certified School of Management and Academic Building, tours of Fenway Park, a Boston Pops concert, and tours of the College – especially the new green quad on the academic campus.
Many alumnae consider Reunion a precious time – one that reminds them of their formative years and links them to a long history of Simmons women. At the awards luncheon, the 50th Reunion Class of 1959 processed into the Linda K. Paresky Conference Center as the newest members of the Half-Century Club, holding bright-colored daisies and greeted by a standing ovation. "Reunion is a wonderful time," said Catherine Coleman '49. I feel a special loyalty to a school that has had such a positive influence on so many women." To read an editorial piece by a reunioning alumna, please click here.
