NEWS | EVENTS | CONTACTS | CLASS NOTES Dear Friends,
One of the highlights of the academic year occurs each September at the Academic Convocation. This year, Provost Charlena Seymour gave an inspiring address to a packed gymnasium at the Holmes Sports Center. The ceremony also provided an opportunity to honor the senior class at the start of their final year, welcome the entering first year class, and celebrate the accomplishments of students and faculty. In particular, we recognize members of Academy, a group of seniors with outstanding academic records and demonstrated contributions to the Simmons community. This year 36% of the seniors so honored come from academic majors in the School of Health Sciences. The students so honored at convocation included: Catherine Arcisz, Physical Therapy (PT); Alma Barnes, PT; Kristen Eugley, Nursing; Riley Fadden, Nursing; Amanda Haller, Dietetics/Nutrition (DN); Tatyana Nikolayeva, PT; Rheannon Willey, DN; and Crystal Yule, PT. Our faculty takes special pride in recognizing the achievements of this outstanding group of health professions students, as they begin their senior year. Gerald P.
