(March 29, 2013) -- At the annual Girls' LEAP Gala on March 28, Simmons College was recognized for its longstanding support of their efforts and named President Helen G. Drinan '75LS, '78SM as the institutional recipient. This recognition came as a result of the commitment of the Scott/Ross Center staff, led by Steve London, and its many student volunteers.
Simmons Named to President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll 7 Years in a Row
(March 7, 2013) -- Simmons College has been named to the 2013 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). Simmons has received this honor for seven consecutive years, and is one of only 16 colleges in the country - the only one is Massachusetts - to earn the "Honor Roll with Distinction" level for five of the seven years since the Honor Roll began.

Sons Create Scholarship to Honor Mother's Legacy
(May 7, 2013) -- A family's Simmons "legacy" can take many forms beyond having multiple generations of alumnae/i – as wonderful as that is. For a growing number of families, their legacy includes sons making gifts to honor their mothers.
Son Honors Mother's Commitment to Simmons
(April 8, 2013) -- Mayo Shattuck recently gave $400,000 to create the Jane Bergwall Shattuck '48 Endowed Scholarship Fund in honor of his mother's inspiring commitment to Simmons College. This fund will provide support to ALANA (African, Latino, Asian, and Native American) students in good academic standing with demonstrated financial need to help ensure diversity of perspectives within the student body.

Their latest gift to Simmons adds $250,000 to the Sloane Family Scholarship Fund, and provides $100,000 to establish a new award recognizing excellence in "student centeredness" in teaching.
